On Saturday 19th May, Haslington held its annual Village Fete where people from all around the Village came round make money for different causes. Ryan Mellor, Joe Dixon and Dominic Mellor volunteered to help out with this year's BB stall which was Stan the Goalie. After nearly an hour trying to set him up and and hour of unusual weather, we were finally on the way to making money for BB funds. Within the first hour of opening, the stall was a roaring and profitable success with 3 shots at Stan for 50p and £1 for 6. One goal, earnt the player three little sweets, two goals or more earnt a player a packet of sweets. If anyone got three out of three then they got three more shots for free. The amount they got after that would be noted down in the book.
With weather going on and off, it was hard at times, but during the Sunny intervals, we had plenty of players having a go of getting that vital three out of three and have a chance to win a prize of a brand new, un-used football similar to those used in the Germany World Cup last year.
With at least three people in the book and over £60 made on the stall made this day a success for our BB.
Well Done Lads for an excellent evening and congratulations to all Boys who won awards and took part in the Displays on the night.
