The Junior Section is for boys aged 7-11 (Years 3 to 6) which operates on a Tuesday night between 6pm and 7:15pm. The Junior Section focuses on a range of fun activities and games which encourages group work and friendships.

There is a huge variety of choice of activities in our Junior Section like football, cricket, crafts, obstacle courses and trips to the Bowling alley. We usually engage in group activities to avoid exposing any lack of skill in an individual and we feel that our Junior Section are very close group which makes a very pleasant environment for the boys.

The focus for the younger boys in the Junior Section is mainly based on fun activities, crafts and games aimed at their age to give them the chance to work together, co-operate in a group activity and to work or play as a team. We feel this helps them to begin to develop important life skills and is great to start good friendships but most importantly it lets them have as much fun as possible.

By the time a boy in the Junior Section reaches 9 or 10 years old, we believe they are starting to become a more developed individual who is looking for more challenges and activities. We cater for this with getting boys involved in more creative activities and having a focus on badgework. We also give them a first taste of leadership by selecting individuals to become 'Leading Boys' for their squad. We believe this will help boys to develop ready for skills they may need later in the Company Section.

The Junior Section follows an Awards Programme which allows them to gain badges through a range of activities. There are around 2000 possible subjects which boys can engage in which can cater for nearly every boy's interest and encourages them to explore other new activities. The badges given are based on the amount of activities done; the badges are Bronze, Silver and Gold. It's a balanced programme which has a spirtual and social input as well as room for physical recreation and adventure. This is split up into 5 parts:

Body - fit for fun
Mind - think and do
Spirit - God and me
Community - me and my World
Creativity - make and do

A year for the Junior Section follows the same as the Company Section from September to the Awards Evening in May. In this time, the boys are split into squads with one boy (usually an older boys) appointed as 'Leading Boy' and compete against each other throughout this time to earn the most points. At the end of the year, the winning squad wins an Award at the Awards Evening.
