Welcome to the official website of the 1st Haslington Boys' Brigade. We are one of the thousands of Boys' Brigades worldwide offering opportunities for lads ranging from 4 to 18 years old to take part in various of activities and have a good time.
What started as a cold, unknowing weekend at the BB's North West Training Centre at Kirkham, today became an Award Ceremony held at Liverpool Road Methodist Church in Southport on a glorious, sunny May day. Seniors Phil Wright, Chris Burrows, Joe Dixon and myself, Ryan Mellor, ended the Queen's Badge journey with the presentations of our awards with around 30 other lads being presented by the Queen's representative in Merseyside, the Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside Dame Lorna Muirhead DBE.
A typical Village Fete for 1st Haslington has always involved wind, rain and Stan the Goalie. For once, the mould was broken and quite the opposite happened with sun, heat and a balloon race. Having used Stan for many years, we kept him at home and went for a new initiative of a balloon race. Although very weird at first to organise, me, Joe, Reece, Ben and Matt quickly got into the groove and were selling balloons like no tomorrow letting them off and bringing in plenty for BB funds.
